Follow these steps
Complete the workflow, then verify it
- 1
Connect an app you control
Create a review-alert Flow for an iOS App Store or Android Google Play listing and choose Slack as its destination. In the dashboard’s Replies setup, connect and verify the store account for that app. App Store replies use an App Store Connect API key; Google Play replies use a service account with the required Play Console access. Follow the in-product instructions for the required permissions.
- 2
Enable Replies for the Flow
Turn on Reply-to-Review for each eligible Flow you want to answer from. If the dashboard asks you to reconnect Slack, use Reconnect Slack to grant the reply permissions. After the trial, Replies costs $10/month or $120/year per enabled Flow, in addition to the base Flow.
- 3
Open Reply on a review alert
Use the review’s Reply button to open the Reply to review composer. Keep internal discussion in the Slack thread. A normal thread message is not submitted as a public app-store response.
- 4
Write and post your response
Enter your message in Public app store reply, then choose Post reply. The current Slack composer accepts up to 350 characters. You can paste a draft from another tool, but review its wording and remove private details before publishing. Cancel closes the composer without posting.
- 5
Check the result in the thread
Look for ReviewBot’s confirmation that the reply was posted successfully. If posting fails, ReviewBot reports the problem in the thread. An empty or closed composer alone is not proof of success. Check the store when public visibility matters; store processing can delay what readers see.
Quick checklist
- ✓The app’s store connection is verified.
- ✓Replies is enabled on this Flow.
- ✓Slack reply permissions are connected.
- ✓The thread confirms the posting result.
If something does not work
The alert has no Reply button+
Check that the source is an eligible iOS or Android app, Replies is enabled, and the store connection has the required access. Reconnect Slack if prompted. An older alert may not include the new action; check a new eligible alert or contact support with the Flow and message details.
Slack asks to reconnect+
Use Reconnect Slack in the dashboard and authorize the workspace used by this Flow. ReviewBot needs permission to open the composer and post the result.
Posting fails+
Read the error in the review thread. Check the store account’s permissions and whether the review still exists. If the error persists, send support the Flow, store, approximate time, and error text. Never send API keys or passwords.
The reply is not visible in the store yet+
Check the thread’s posting result first. Store processing or moderation can delay public visibility after an accepted submission. Avoid repeatedly posting the same response just because the storefront has not refreshed.
Frequently asked questions
Does writing in a Slack thread post a public reply?+
No. Use the review’s Reply button, then Post reply in the composer. Normal Slack thread messages remain team discussion.
Can I reply to a competitor’s reviews?+
No. Monitoring a public listing does not give you permission to reply. You must authorize the store account for an app you control.
Does ReviewBot automatically write the reply?+
No. You write or paste the response and choose Post reply. ReviewBot does not provide an AI drafting or automatic thread-approval workflow.
Can I enable this for both stores?+
Yes. Create separate iOS and Android Flows and connect the relevant store accounts. Enable Replies and review the price on each Flow.
