Connect Slack for app review alerts

Slack is a strong first destination when product and support already triage work in channels. Keep the initial Flow narrow, name the owner, and test the authorization and message format before sending a larger stream.

Follow these steps

Complete the workflow, then verify it

  1. 1

    Choose Slack in a Flow

Start a new Flow or edit an existing one, then choose Slack as the destination integration.

  2. 2

    Authorize the workspace

Choose Add account to open Slack authorization. Review the workspace and channel access requested, then approve and return to ReviewBot.

  3. 3

    Select a focused channel

Use a channel such as #app-reviews or #mobile-support. Tell the channel owner what the Flow sends and which rules trigger an alert.

  4. 4

    Configure the handoff

Include low-star reviews and focused issue keywords first. Keep the original review link and source context in the message so the owner can investigate without searching.

  5. 5

    Send a test alert

Save or turn on the Flow, send a test alert, and confirm the message appears in the intended channel with readable rating, text, app, and link context.

Quick checklist

  • The correct Slack workspace is authorized.
  • The channel owner knows the alert rules.
  • The channel is not a general noise stream.
  • A test message was acknowledged.

If something does not work

Slack authorization returns to ReviewBot but no channel appears+

Check that the intended workspace was selected and that the Slack account can access the channel. Reconnect the account if the authorization was interrupted.

The channel receives too many alerts+

Start with one- and two-star reviews or a few issue keywords. Use Status Report for the complete trend and keep urgent channels focused.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send different apps to different Slack channels?+

Yes. Create a Flow per app or owner when routing differs. This makes channel ownership and alert rules easier to understand.

Does Slack receive scheduled reports?+

Yes, use the Status Report task with a weekly or monthly schedule when the team needs a digest instead of individual notifications.
